South Sudan's Jonglei state a 'humanitarian disaster area'

South Sudan's Jonglei state a 'humanitarian disaster area'

http://www.cnn.com/2012/01/05/world/...tml?hpt=iaf_t4

"........."The attacks, which on the face of it appear to be cattle raids, have deeper underlying causes related to poverty, competition for scarce resources, the ubiquity of small arms left over from a decades-long war and marginalization of ethnic minorities," said MRG's Chapman. "In addition, the conflict between the Lou Nuer and Murle is taking on a dynamic of repeated revenge attacks, highlighting the need for the government to take urgent action to protect innocent civilians."............"

It sucks to be women and children in parts of Africa.

From the West to the East, North to South ethnic and religious conflict continue to rock large sections of the country.

Form the majority of the world it appears to be "Eh, who cares - it's Africa."

If thousands of people die of starvation and the rest of the world does not care - did it happen?

Should we even care? Just let them fight it out?
