Damscus AXIM Air Mesh Gloves

Looking for information on the gloves in the thread title. They are advertised in the Galls Equipment Catalog. My surveillance and detection team here at the US Embassy, Moscow are interested in ordering these. They are listed as a new item in the catalog but thought someone there is USA might have used or be using them. The main question is would they be satisfactory in -30 degree Celsius temperatures. Other input would be gladly received.

Thanks

MIchael

As a dealer that has carried the Damascus glove line for almost 2 years, I can tell you that I will be meeting with them this weekend at SHOT to explain why I am dropping them from inventory in our shop. Perhaps my feedback will help them improve their product line.

When I brought this glove line in, I was very impressed with both design and price.

After personally using these gloves for over a year, I have had nothing but frustrations and disappointments.
If you are looking for gloves that will last for 6 months or so with light use, give them a try.
If you are looking for gloves that will stand up to heavy abuse, look elsewhere.

Case in point:
My unit (HHD and BSC 1/20 SFG) spend 2 weeks on the range this summer, and I offered to provide "cool-guy gear" to the guys in my unit at dealer/distributor cost.
After fielding around 2 dozen pairs of assorted Damascus gloves to my buddies, I found that we had a near 100% failure rate after 10 days.
I felt so bad about this, that I didnt bother collecting the money the guys owed me for the gloves.

I have explained this to their field rep, who promised to "make things right" with me, and to this date, have received nothing back from the company.
No email. Not phone call. No replacement product.

Good luck with your glove search, and hope you have better luck with Damascus than I have.
