Nah, RL.... I would never call you a dumbass. I have read alot of your posts and admittedly, alot of times twice, that born from necessity. I also know you weren't blaming your wife. Should have somehow used a couple well placed smilies in my last post.

Besides , I can't remember how many sunburns I had when I was younger. I'd just blame whoever was around at that point to keep them honest.

By the way... how are the hands comming along?

Left is pretty much recovered. Right has some lingering discomfort and difficulty closing fingers in middle and ring fingers only. Not a big deal, though. Played another game Saturday night and it did not bother me.

There ya go, RL..... You can feel what you can do or not do with that (injury).
At the risk of getting myself in deep water with the medical experts out here (so don't pass this on)

. I always figured if some part of me wanted to hurt, the hell with it, the rest of me felt fine and those rebelling parts get ignored til they get back with the program. Oh, which reminds me, I have a way of getting rid of pnuemonia. LOL

So the injury on my right hand never really went away. Still hurts to bend two of the fingers on my right hand, and there is still some swelling at the knuckles closest to the hand.

Going to see a doc about this when my schedule calms down a little, but any thoughts about what it might be?

I'm finding that healing time gets a lot longer as I get a bit older. Many moons can pass before things get better on their own.

either there are stress fractures or ligament injuries if it has been lasting this long....or the simplist is chronic bursitis due to injury....see a doc (ortho hand)

That's what the ortho said to me when I went to him over my hand. He said 6 to 12 months for the swelling and associated pain to go away since it was on the knuckle and I'm 'aging'.

Just got back from seeing my GP. X-rays negative for fracture (although they show soft tissue inflammation and some arthritis), but he's going to show them to a hand specialist. Prescribed 7.5 mg Mobic for 5 days and told me to rest the hand while taking it. Will refer me to hand specialist if that doesn't work.

You still having issues, its been what, almost 3 months since you did this and are just now going to the doctor?

I broke this tiny bone in my wrist, one of the carpal bones, and it was 2 months of PT, 3 different docs, BEFORE I had a bone scan that revealed the fracture. Six weeks in a cast later, I was fine. I USED to have belief that doctors were infallible, boy was that naive.

It pays to be an educated, pain-in-the-ass patient. Research your symptoms, ask questions, get 2nd opinions, etc.

At least you hurt yourself playing a contact sport, I broke my wrist playing golf.

I jumped out of planes for 3.5 years, played contact sports, raced mountain bikes, rock-climbed, and the two lingering injuries I ever had to deal with were from playing golf and air hockey (of course, alcohol was involved in the air-hockey incident).

Just got back from the hand specialist. New x-rays confirm no fractures. More likely partial tear of ligaments which can't really be treated.

Gave me cortisone injections in both knuckles. Most painful shots I have ever had -- and they still hurt. It wasn't the needle, it was the bolus. Even with Lidocaine, it was really bad.

This better produce some ^$%##%&* results! LOL
