I'm a 17 year old civilian hoping to become a Royal Marine. I'm from England so I hope I will be welcomed like everyone else. Thanks.

I'm thirty-one years old, from New Orleans. I served nine years in the Marine Corps Reserve as an Airframe Mechanic. I recently re-enlisted in the Mississippi Guard in hopes of going to SFAS. -Jeremy

But my best friends were and they tell me a doc is always welcome. And they taught me how to inject tincture of benzoin into a blister.... my own! God Bless them.

Don Riggs, civilian weapon system designer

Born, Stuttgart Germany - Army brat
Learned the important stuff from Heinlein
I develop Warfighter systems and battlefield mobility systems, and I'm here to learn and ask questions; I can't give a safety and lethality edge to our Warfighters unless I run my concepts by Warfighters to help me "slap the stupid" out of the ideas BEFORE the "lets make a profit on this" folks get involved.

So I may say dumb things and ask stupid questions, but its for a good purpose.

A couple of favorite quotes:

Failure to diligently practice war results in ample opportunity to practice surrender. Unless surrender sounds interesting, budget the Warfighters first.

All of us lead some, and follow others. Always strive to lead to the utmost in your competence...
"Soldiers will follow a good leader anywhere and under any conditions of battle. Be that leader." MG H.R. McMaster

Prior Service (USCG)

Long-time lurker. My old intro is gone; so I need to move back into compliance.

I'm 26, coming to the end of six years in the Coast Guard. I'm out in two months; and had planned on pursuing an 18x enlistment option. Unfortunately for me, the Army closed 18x to prior service a few months back.

Suck it up and drive on though, right? I've just begun researching the NGSF option now. I live in DC, so I'm especially interested in B Co./2nd Bn/20th SFG, but I am willing to travel much further if necessary.

Thank you to all the QP's who put up with all of us wannabe's (and a whole lot more) in service to our great nation.

Semper Paratus,

Keating

JCHuston

Stopping in to say hello and to keep in touch with everyone. Spent 5 years in 11th SFG (A) as a Polish and Russian bubba and did some course development for the move from DLI to Bragg. Commissioned a CHEMO and was immediately welcomed back in to 10th SFG (A). Upon retirement I went to work with the "4th BN" 10TH SFG (A) at USNORTHCOM. After years of dealing with that one infamous "bad landing" and several surgeries later...I now find myself an incomplete T5 paraplegic but refuse to let it slow me down! So, just on here to keep up with old and new friends in the community!

I joined in 2010, but I guess I never made an introduction post.

I am currently a 12B in the Cav. I'll spend most of my time lurking and learning.

Smile A salute to all who have served abd those who are planning to

Good day to all,
I am 16 years old and aspire to be a quiet professional. Ever since I heard the song by Ssg. Barry Sadler when I was 8 I was set that this is what I have wanted to do. I wanted to help people in need, Give freedom and hope to the oppressed all the while taking out those who wish to do harm to the weak. My dad was embedded with 5th group in Afghanistan and helped train Afghanistan swat teams. He was working for Dyncorp [PMC] and I couldn't have been prouder. My dad and mom have supported me to pursue a career in the military and remind me every day that It's all one big mental game. My dad has had me competing in Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling [Greco] and Kickboxing matches ever since I was little and I love every minute of it. I am a Junior in AJROTC and soon to be acting battalion commander of 165 cadets. I plan on going to NC state Army ROTC and get nervous but excited as every day passes. I have to be honest with myself though. There are times where I just want to be lazy and I am but I am working hard to prepare myself and I am glad I found this website. This website even though it was intended for the honorable who have already earned their right to wear the beret I am grateful and gracious to allow myself to pick and read the experiences of others. I cannot tell you how many hours I have spent on this website alone and every day learn something new. My absolute favorite area on this website though is the Hall of shame. Only because of how horribly assembled the uniforms look and the lack of effort from a 350+ "Special" forces commander in ACU's fooled no one. Thank you for allowing me to be on this forum and gain knowledge in my pursuit to make a difference in a less fortunate persons life.

Thank you QPs

I would like to say thank you to all QP's, you guys are my heros.
I am a former Marine (AD) and Army MP (NG). I've been in law enforcement, as well as a firearms instructor for a number of years and I hope I can pull the cord soon and join your ranks. Thanks for the great forum.
