Since they don't want to have people showing an ID to exercise their right to vote, then we need to repell the requirement to show an ID when exercising our rights to buy a gun.

Seems we need to have press conference with a bunch of parents/kids who's lives were saved because of a gun.

rant off

These expressions are PRICELESS!

I see more emotion there than I did when he spoke of the Boston bombing. I'm just saying.....

Biden looks like he's about to cry.

PRICELESS!

A commitment to consistently apply and enforce the existing laws by changing the existing law?

I'd argue that the President was hoping for this outcome. Now he has an issue to bludgeon the GOP with and the National media will be in lock step with him all the way. The fact of the matter is that this bill would never have made it past the house and there would have been dozens of democrats from the south and other rural areas that would have voted against the bill destroying any false notion that the bill died because of purely partisan reasons. He can point to the 54-46 party line vote and claim that it's all the Republicans fault while ignoring that the bill had no support in the House.

I think he was expecting it to pass the Senate and fail in the House. Since the Senate rejected it, he doesn't have much of a case against the GOP as the DNC controls the Senate. He can only blame the NRA and that will prove pretty hard to do.

The majority of the Senate voted for the measure. Only parliamentary rules on amendments prevented its passage. He can still claim with a straight face that despite having a majority only a recalcitrant GOP prevented its passage. If it had gotten a vote in the House there would have been 40+ deems who voted against it. You can't pretend that only one party is to blame in that case.

Before 2016, there's immigration. Who do you think the newly legalized aliens will vote for?
