Hello to all
My name is Ryan. I am 23 years old living in Utah. I am married with three children, two girls and a boy. I am spanish/english bilingual.
I do not currently know really what my PT is, but my pushups are.....58 nonstop. I bet I could do at least 10 pullups right now and have no idea what my run or situps would be.
I want to get into the Army and into SF, and I am grateful for this site and the information here. I promise not to ask questions or make comments without good reason and much research first.
I will respect all of the QP's on here and all other veterans and their advice/opinions on any subject matter.
Once I get my wife's immigration papers and what not taken care of and my behind in great shape (again, I used to compete in olympic lifting) I will be signing up with an 18x contract. I tried and failed last year due to legal matters on behalf of my spouse, so I know what the recruiting process is like now.
Thank you for this site and your service.

rdbruggy's Intro
Hello,
My name is Robert. I am currently in college, have just finished my AS degree, but am considering serving in the military. I always try for the top, not just to pass, but to succeed, so I have been looking into the best that the military has, the Special Forces. I have nothing but the highest respect and admiration for these men who have succeeded in becoming the very best they can be, and serving our country as they have dedicated their service to. I appreciate the opportunity learn and glean some advice from these great men, in an effort to potentially follow in their footsteps, as they lead the way for all of us. Thanks so much for all that you do,
With respect and gratitude,
Robert

Welcome all!
Note that there is no charge for using the Search button here as much as you want, but there may be one for starting redundant threads or not following the board rules.
Best of luck.

Jimbo Intro
Hi everyone. I'm 27, I live in Florida.
I enlisted in the FL National Guard in 2002 as a 12B Combat Engineer, though a year or so later they consolidated the Engineer branch to 21 series.
Deployed all over Florida for all of the hurricanes that hit back in 2004. My unit was called to active duty in March 2005 for an Afghanistan rotation, returned in mid 2006 and returned to school.
Graduated from Florida State University, go Noles. Commissioned as an 11A in the Georgia National Guard.
I looked into the 20th Group in 2006 after I came back, but decided to finish school first. Looking at the 20th again now that I'm getting close to being a Captain, and I'm sure I'll have some questions.

Hello everyone. Even though I don’t plan on posting, it feels odd to lurk without some sort of intro.
First off, I am a female. That would (correctly) imply that I am not SF, nor will I ever be. I joined for two reasons: one, because I am dating someone who aspires to go into this line of work and is currently in the pipeline, and two, to use the search bar to more readily find answers to the questions I may have.
Since I won’t be asking any national security questions, let’s keep it semi-vague, shall we? I live in an unreasonably expensive suburb near an unreasonably expensive city in an unreasonably expensive state. I have a college degree in chemical engineering, which was not a wise move seeing as how I despise desk work. Working in oil and gas at the moment, we will see where that takes me. My job will eventually put me all over the world if I can suck it up and earn my stripes jockeying this desk.
I am here to learn (as the username implies). You all are a vast supply of knowledge and experience that I hope to tap. I have already started by reading a few books, but a lot of the things I have learned here by lurking I don’t think I could have learned through published text. These things are quite unsettling to me, honestly. My brain tends to run with ideas, going to the worst case scenario immediately and preparing for it. Maybe ignorance is bliss, but I have a thirst to learn and I won’t settle for not knowing. Stupidity (or ignorance in my case) is not an excuse, and I will not be apathetic when I can change it.
Thank you for putting this forum together and for the expertise you provide. I really appreciate it.
Since I’m long winded, a synopsis: I am a female (therefore not SF, now or future), I don’t plan on posting after this one, and I am here to learn. Back to lurking I go, now with the ability to use the search bar…

Mtdohert Introduction
Hi,
My name is Mark and I found this site through Google. I am attempting to obtain an 18x contract. If it turns out I cannot obtain an 18x contract I will enlist as an 11X and work from there. I am 26 and have a degree in Mechanical engineering. I am also in the process of obtaining a master's degree (2013 graduation date). This site is very impressive. I have found an answer to every question I had regarding Special Forces. I wish research were always made this easy.
I want to serve my country because my country has given me so much. I have been given safety, comfort, an education and so much more. I also want more out of this life than just a paycheck. I believe the Army can give this to me; whether it is in Special Forces or a conventional unit.
Mark

Greetings all-
Formerly username primumnonocer but per Eagle5's direction I changed my name. I'm a medic currently deployed to Afghanistan and am serving with an RCP. I am a Biology major back home and am involved in EMS. Prior to leaving I completed a paramedic program and am cleared to test with NR. I am interested in a career in Special Forces and the search bar has provided me with many answers. Many thanks to the QP's and mods who run the site.

Greetings,
I'm an IT guy from Latvia. Apart from sitting at computer I enjoy riding bike, camping and expanding my knowledge. Ever since I was about 10, I took an interest in military things. At first it was nothing more than kids playing war, but it evolved - I joined National Guard of Latvia.
I'm here to read, in fact I hesitated even to write this post, but finally did.

intro
My name is Richard, and currently in the Georgia Army National Guard. I have meet only a few (current)SF troops. I always admired how they would talk to me and answer my questions. They where never rude nor stuck-up. One was a ROTC instructor, and the others talked to us on dismounted tactics while in country(OIF 09-10). I just want to thank any and all who have lived in service to others.
