I was watching the movie Patton today (on AMC...stupid Dish TV) and noticed as his halftrack drove thru the desert it had a big black WTF flag on it!
I had to google that one for a bit!

I once used BFD as the unclassified reference for a Corp OPLAN.
I've no idea why the initials for Before Full Deployment would cause command to go nuclear...

I reckon it dates back to the "Fun, Travel, and Adventure" days. You know how those old timers are.

I was invited by one of our distinguished faculty to join him at the Big House tomorrow to watch our Wolverines trounce the Hawkeyes.
One of my patients was invited as a guest of Georges St-Pierre to the UFC fight tomorrow night. Unforuntately, he relapsed and is quite sick in the hospital following intensive chemotherapy so he cannot attend. We've made arrangements for the family to host a private viewing party in a secluded part of the hospital and I've been asked to come as part of the family. When we shared the plans for the party with my patient, his mood immediately brightened - he's been extremely down due to the refractory nature of his cancer and is preparing himself for the likelihood of going home on comfort/hospice care once sufficiently recovered from this treatment round.
I am grateful for the privilege to care for this courageous young man and the opportunity to know him and his family, and that we can do something that, although seemingly small, means so much for him.

It's Friday - which means I need to go to the Bogle and Boeger wineries tomorrow to pick up my Fall wine club selections and taste their newest releases. Sweeeeeeeet!

Tomorrow LTG Boykin will be speaking at a church I used to attend. I would not drive across town to to hear most, but I will happily travel the four hours to listen to him.

Received today from a former student who graduates with her MS in December - made my day.

My parents have been blessed with good health as they head into old age.
After a few years taking it easy, they've stepped up their training and running performance is improving.
In a Thanksgiving day 5k run, mom finished 22:53 (at age 65) and dad finished in 18:34 (at age 68).
Not bad for geezers.

That is very cool! I'd be willing to believe that "blessed with" may include some things done right on their part.
Worthy goals.
Mine for today is a houseful with #1 gd wanting to be shown some knots as her book-ferret senses located an older Ranger handbook on the shelf in the little one's toy room. Smack in the middle of young lady & tom-boy - is she ever entertaining.

Heading to the 'Crooked Door Tavern' on the Erie Canal with Nino and Carriage. Will be driving up and down the canal giving rides from lunch through dinner if any are in this AO.
