The color of the beret

TR opined, "I believe that it is green. The SF Green Beret is a very dark green known as Rifle Green, and at times, is mistaken for black."

It is no mistake that the black beret is often mistaken for green. It was part of the plan. Aside, WTF is a hat? I'd often thought that we'd been better off with baseball caps. What kind of person do you attract to a unit who focuses on accouterments? I met a few. I read Robin Moore's book in SFTG. I saw the movie as a patient after the RVN in Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver. I look at the one thing I missed in the Army; I'm not Ranger qualified.

I got assigned to that Mississippi unit to go to Haiti. Those country folks hate the UN!

Crazyasses flew the US flag, the Mississippi state flag and UN flag at the bottom on a pole.

That gave LTC Short a fit, trying to explain that too the upper-echelons.

mississippi guys

My greatgrandfather died in Okalona, MS in 1903. There is a town where cotton was king, ain't nothing regal about it now. Funny thing, he was an Irish-Catholic. What was he doing there?
