Memory and focus drugs?
I saw on one of the SOF pubs a few years ago a pill for memory and focus that was developed for people in our line of work. I ordered it and used it and it worked well when you were dragging ass. Does anyone remember those adds and what the company was? I thought they were produced by Phillips Nutrition but cant find the add in any of my back issues.
Or does anyone have any recommendations for this kind of thing?

As SS said (provigil and nuvigil) - also, the stimulants used for ADHD (e.g. Ritalin) improve performance in the general population - thus some crazed parents will try to get their kid labelled ADHD so they can have an academic edge.
Caffeine (also a stimulant) works for me.
Some feel gingko biloba supplements also help.

There are plenty of supplements created by the nutraceutical industry. It's of course targeted to the general population, but specifically those who are in university cramming for exams or working where memory is key.
CanPrev has something called Mind-Pro , which averages about 80 dollars for 120 capsules.

Another is made by Advanced Orthomolecular Research (AOR) called Ortho Mind.

They're excellent products, but they are expensive.

Some of the ingredients in Gungho like niacin (increase blood circulation), ashwaganda, and eleuthero I've seen being used in naturopathic medical practice.
Sucralose isn't nice since it has a chlorine atom attached and its metabolism is unknown, and sodium benzoate actually decreases energy (it inhibits the mitochondria function). Sodium benzoate's purpose is a food preservative. I've seen them in anti aging skin creams (irony is that it actually ages the user more).
Has anyone tried ruckpack? www.ruckpacks.com, it was created by member of marsoc. That I would consider more naturopathic than gungho.

I think the reporter elaborated the tail by using "special forces",, and the young LtCmd didn't correct her.
If I read his badges and ribbons correctly, his is an aviation crew member?
Badges:
U.S. Navy/Marine Corps Paratrooper
U.S. Marine Corps Naval Aviation Observer/Navigator
Rack:
Navy Marine Corps Medal
Air Medal
Joint Services Commendation Medal
Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal
Combat Action Ribbon
Presidential Unit Citation
Meritorious Unit Commendation Award
National Defense Service Medal
BTDT Ribbons (6)
Does MARSOC have a badge ??
