The article talks a lot about the S&W M&P (.40). Also seems like they really want a firearm with an external safety (which makes the Sig Sauer and Glock unlikely candidates). As good as it would be, I don't see them going back to the .45 . If they do though, I will probably never be happier to have been wrong.

The 1911, I'm still upset that we ever went away from it. A true expert's pistol shooter's pistol. Training with the 1911 is as much of a fine art as playing the violin in my opinion.
