Quite grateful to live in a nation with such excellent medicine.

Glad to hear it. God works miracles.

That God does. And the body has an amazing capability to heal itself if given the proper kick in the pants when it goes off. Great news, GC.

My Happy Thought
My Happy Thought of the Day: is that I am happy my wife is finally moving around on her own for the first time after having surgery. And more happy to hear that my youngest daughter (Age 15) has been nursing her the entire time.

Heard radial engines and just went outside to watch a B-24 fly over at around 500' - took off from Addison Airport and turned to the West - what a sight!

Don't be ridiculous, one can never get "full up to here" when it comes to fresh seafood.

Won my age group in a 5k race today. Much more a function of natural attrition than my speed.
The run was for one of the rural schools in the area: the run raises enough money every year to give every kid that continues on to college/trade school a scholarship.

Ron Ron Crazypills's medication finally wore off last night but, thanks to the Big Spaniard, it was left to the OKC Thunder and their fans to swallow the bitter pill of defeat. (IMO, the comparisons between Kevin Durant and George Gervin are misplaced; Durant should be compared to Larry Bird.)

Our minor league (6,7, & 8 yr old) Red Sox team won yet another nail-biter 7-6. My 7 year old got the game ball today! Frosties for everyone (named Bandy...I'm a cheap son of a gun).

Ahh, the Iceman. Used to love to watch him and David Thompson go at it.
What about Dr. J?

IMO, he gets less credit now than he deserves.
I have plenty of bad memories of what he and the Sixers did to the Lakers in the early 80s.
The thundering dunk over Cooper and that drive along the baseline << LINK2>>.
Who knows how things would have unfolded had Andrew Toney's feet held up.
(I cannot believe the Sixers are thinking about giving Larry Brown a job. He's The Associate's version of the president: the current job is only a stepping stone to the next gig.)

- With each passing day, I get ever closer to finding a magic portal that drivers--or other persons of interest--use so they do not have to pay for parking. (Lamentably, once I find that portal and close it, another will open in its place.)
- With the exception of the assistant manager, I have a staff comprised entirely of Teamsters.
There is probably absolutely no relationship whatsoever between the two points listed above. No, I'm serious. Absolutely none.
Well, maybe a little.

As of today, my wife has been able to be a stay-at-home mom for 10 years.
Hard work, frugality, and sacrifice have seen it through.
Won't ever have all the cool toys or fancy lifestyle.
The kids are worth it.

For years I had a "Family Circus" cartoon on the inside of my bathroom "medicine cabinet." It said, "You can give your kids one of two things: time or money. Time is better."
I've never regretted being the "Stay At Home Dad" for my daughters' early years. It is worth it. Money is NOT everything.
Good on you and your wife!
