Shin splints

I was just wondering if anyone here knows an effective means of handling shin splints that doesn't involve reducing the amount of mileage run or the pace at which i run it... Any advice on this topic would be welcome!

1. Learn to use the search button before asking questions here, they have probably already been answered.

2. If you are going to quote the Yankee war criminal W.T. Sherman here, I hope that you have Nomex underwear handy.
