Right heavy and long. They weigh more and are longer than some of the Little People carrying them. Besides, this is our AO - if they're going to buy weapons they should buy US weapons. They love the AR15 series. Its a trophy for them. M4 is just right.

Why isn't it called the M-17?

Because it is a carbine, not a rifle, and the last officially designated carbine before the M-4 was the M-3.

used the galil and galillon alot since the reserves, during training. I must say though that they are reliable. Compact and easily thrown into an apc etc... and come out of it firing pretty acturately in the direction you need.
The butt is quite good tool as well, since the gun is robust you can use it to ...break things and still shoot. eg. locks etc... anyway

The bitch is to close the damn butt, got to hit it just right with your upper arm and it closes fast, if you miss, you get a nice bruise. (that's just to look cool, when you slam that thing shut , there is a more gentil way)

HAHAHA i remember the first and last time i tried that!!!! Now i just squeeze and close.
