COL Moroney

I had the priviledge of serving with COL Moroney when he first arrived in Vietnam in 1968. He was a CPT and my A-Team leader at the time. He was a great guy and leader. He will be missed. I had not seen him since leaving Vietnam, but talked to him on the land line and emails over the years. I had talked to him a few days prior to his passing and it was quite a shock to me when I was notified of his passing. guys, were are thinning out. RIP

In Memoriam

I had the distinct honor and pleasure of working for COL Moroney (then MAJ Moroney) back in the 80's. He was a great leader, a tremendous inspiration and a wonderful mentor and my ideal of what a man, a husband and a patriot ought to be. You will be missed COL.

It has been quite some time since I have been around these parts, and much has changed in my life since I started posting on this forum. One thing that will never change, however, is the great deal of respect I had for Colonel Moroney, someone who always took time to answer my questions with patience and firmness, and through his manner and experience came to have a large effect on the way I saw the world and, particularly, my future.

Rest in Peace, Sir.

The COL's final resting place, (thank you to the member that sent it to me.)

A salute I never wanted to render
A salute I rendered with the highest degree of respect and admiration
A final salute to a true Warrior

Blue Skies Colonel, Blue Skies.

Jack was my B-Team commander long ago when I was a a 2Lt XO of an A-Team. I am so sorry to learn of his passing. I truly regret not being at home and not being able to attend the service at Arlington. Men such as Jack are rare and one should pay the honor and respect that they deserve.

Regretably I stumbled upon this forum a few days ago while searching for info and found that Colonel Moroney had passed away. It was so hard just looking at the picture of his headstone. It was my pleasure to have worked for him in PSSE-B. Rest in peace, Sir!
