Congrats. When I went to Phase One at 23, 5'10 160 lbs I could do a 300 also cept mine was 100 push-ups, 100 situps and 11:00 for two miles and "Phase One" still beat the crap out of me. Do more PT.

Hello All
I have been a quiet lurker for many years and maybe now is the time to come out of the shadows. I am a 'Nam vet, USASA, 2 tours and author of 2 books, Honor Due & Honor Defended. I am so honored to have been allowed into this house as the information contained herein has aided my writing immeasurably. Most of all I wish to thank Doc and ProfessionalSoldiers.com for the use of the 'True Believer' quote for Honor Defended. Hopefully in some small way it will open some eyes to the dangers of our present world. I shall continue to read and learn. Be well.

Intro
Hello Folks! Looks like I'm the FNG today. It's good to be here. Let me first of all say that I have a profound respect for you guys wearing the "Long Tab." I've always had a lot of intrest in the Special Forces community. Currently I'm working with my branch to come on a "Group Assignment" in September when I PCS from Kuwait. I've been in the Army almost 7 years now. I'm one of those Signal geeks (SAT-COM) but hopefuly soon I'll be an SF signal geek (18E)! That's right; after years of toying with the idea I've finally decided to see if I got what it takes by going to SFAS. I'm really glad I found this site!

Greetings, all.
Howdy, folks. Just making my introduction. It's a privilege to be here.
I'm DJ Urbanovsky. I've got prior service as a combat engineer. Done a bunch of different things since then, but now I'm a custom knifemaker. I've been at that full time since 2005 under the American Kami moniker. Some of my friends/customers in the community advised me to check out this site, so here I am.
I look forward to learning as well as contributing in whatever sort of meaningful capacity I'm able.
Thanks for having me.

Hi, thank you for having me.
Canadian civilian here, 22 years old. Never served. Low-timer helo pilot (200 hrs TT), I am currently studying at Quebec's ULAVAL in Administration of Business. I am very passionate with black rifles (M14, AR10T and AR15 owner), unix/linux and the world of encryption. I'm here to learn about the trade of being a warrior.
I've only been lurking a few months but I can already appreciate to depth of knowledge I've found here so far.
BTW, I found this forum through SOCNET. Been a member there since 2004.

Introduction
My introduction is also a heartfelt thanks. I've been a silent observer on the forum for nearly a year, gaining both a tremendous amount of knowledge and a deep respect for the men and the profession represented here.
As I tiptoe quietly around your house, I realize I'm in the minority -- being a woman and never having served in the military. The purpose of my visits is mainly for research, to have an accurate understanding of what it is you men do, and a desire to know what kind of man does these things. I've not been disappointed, either in the knowledge-base or in the type of men contributing to it.
Why am I here? Because I'm a writer. (Is this where I get shown the door?) I have strongly suspected that the portrayal of a Special Forces soldier, as given in common literature and movies, was... well... entertaining, but inaccurate to some degree. Observing you gentlemen here has not only confirmed my suspicions, but also given me an excellent example of what a real QP is. I hope my writing is better for it and does you men justice.
Thank you again.
Susan

Welcome both of you
When you graduate VMI try not to compete with the West Pointers as it gets stupid in it's waste of young soldiers. Just lead.
Write well Requiem, Or pay the price, Blitzzz

Hello,
I’ve been lurking here for a while and figured it was time to post an introduction.
I am a 27 year old Returned Peace Corps Volunteer. I went to MEPS this week to sign an 18x contract; I passed the physical and scored a 122 on the DLAB. Unfortunately, as a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer I was disqualified from getting a security clearance. It is still unclear to me if it is permanently disqualifying or just for four years after Peace Corps service. I am currently trying to figure out what my next step should be…
Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this forum; I have learned much and will continue reading.

Welcome to PS.com.
Your having been a member of the Peace Corps is a permanent disqualification to obtaining a clearance because of the people you may have had contact with while serving.
Best of luck with your options.

Greetings,
I've come to this board several times over the last year or so to research specific things.
Currently I am a roadie construction worker. I pour the concrete for windturbines all over but mostly in Texas and some in Oklahoma. I've been living out of hotels for two years now and it's getting old. My main purpose here is to glean information to prepare myself for the 18Xray program.
You have my sincere thanks for your service.
Ek
