Intro
I am Robert. I am currently in the US Army Reserve as a 96B Intel Analyst. I have been in the USAR for 3 months with 8 months of IET training before that.
I am a wrestler, and currently train with my coach and highschool team. I also have begun training in Submission Wrestling (Ju Jutsu) at a low level. I am very interested in hand to hand combat training and am available for any discussions on this subject as well as other subjects relevent to this forum and the military.
I am and always have been interested in Special Forces and being a Special Forces soldier. I am currently waiting on my 368 to get out of the Reserves and into active duty, only waiting on my next record PT Test in July.
I am currently talking to a recruiter about the 18X program and currently training and preparing for that career choice. I hope to be an 18B.
After much thought I decided that I wanted to make the leap to Special Forces, being an Intelligence Analyst is just not for me. To paraphrase a qoute on here from a QP "Combat arms is not about MOS, it is about attitude", this qoute is something that I agree with. Being a soldier and a warrior is something that I aspire to be and that is the only thing I feel that I will want to do with my life.
I have been lurking on this forum for the past few months and have gleaned a lot of information from the QPs and other posters.
I look forward to discussing topics in a professional manner with the members of this board.
Edit: misspell

lets get it on
hi everyone 11B/SSG in Iraq with 2-2 SCR (out of Vilseck GE.). First i want to say thanks for allowing me into your forum. Ive been reading the posts
here for about a month now... figure its time i introduce myself. It is awsome that i now have a resource like this to ask professionals questions
that will help me better myself as a soldier, and as a leader. I am coming from various line units where the training is marginal at best.
If you want training in these units you have to seek it out yourself, which is why i am here. I will try not to ask any stupid questions, plan on
doing mostly reading here anyway. I dont imagine i have much to contribute compared to the experience and professionalism of the other members on
this site. Thanx again for the opportunity. Enough BS lets get to training!

I was in the Army for almost 8 years with the last few years as a Cav Scout. I loved that job and have always wanted to go SF but was never "ready" in my eyes. Now that the years have passed and I've gained more experience and life lessons, its time to move my life in a better direction so I am currently signing up for the guard and in a few months hopefully will be in SOFC or SFAS. I joined this site on the advise from a 20th Group guy I know who's helping me get back in.

Well, I would recommend against being the liner.
The string might be okay.

Glad to be here
First off, I am glad to be part of this site. I really value the Quiet Professionals and their service. Down the road I plan to attend SFAS and take my shot at joining the long line and tradition of the Special Forces soldier.
I joined the Army in 2004. I attended OSUT at Fort Sill, OK and gained the MOS of 13-F Fire Support Specialist. I was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC for about 6 months before I deployed to Iraq in 2005. At the end of my tour I was approved for a Green to Gold Scholarship. I am currently trying to finish up school and my ROTC program so I can receive my commission. When I return to Active Duty I want to become an Infantry Officer and become Ranger qualified. Hopefully everything pans out and I make it down the path I choose.

I have been involved in marksmanship and tactics training for my organization for 10 years. I am active duty, not Army SF. Not any SF, to be precise. I have been a few places and done a few things, nothing that is out of the ordinary for most here, so no reason to bore anyone. I have developed a few official courses and advised weapon selection/development.
I heard about this forum a few years ago, and recently saw it mentioned elsewhere, so I decided to jump in. I am here mostly to avoid developing content in a vaccume, and I appreciate other professionals who are willing to share experiences to assist other services. I am active on a few other boards, though under another name.
Thanks for having me in, will do my best to be an asset.
-Jack

Hello
Hello, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Jeremy, I'm 22, recently graduated college with my Bachelor's degree in English and have been considering joining the Army with an intent to try out for the Special Forces. I found this site and decided to do some research in trying to figure out if it was the right kind of goal for me to pursue and based on everyone's attitudes towards helping people in a serious manner I believe it is.
I probably won't post again for quite a while, since I have a lot of reading to be doing, but I hope you all have a good Independence Day. Hope to see you all around.
Peace,
Jeremy

Medic
My name is Mike. I will be enlisting in the Army later this year, and am interested in learning all that I can about the Special Forces. I am currently working as a paramedic, and would like to continue my medical career as an 18D. Any information that I can find here, I feel, will be of benefit. Thanks.

Hi - Just got clued in to this site by a friend, looked through some of the 10th SFG threads and recognize some of the posters, matter of fact it looks like a fair amount of the 053 team that I was lucky enough to serve on are members. I have since moved on to other interesting jobs in the military and have strayed from the SF community. I am still active duty, which would surprise most people, and I am always looking out for other members of the community that end up in my sphere of influence

Good Evening All. Name is Josh. Current enlistment from another branch is coming to an end soon, and I'm definitely going to join the Army after that. Wanted to join the Army and go for Special Forces since day one, and in the past 4.5 years, the more I learn about the Special Forces, the more excited and eager I get. Also the more I regret not doing it in the first place.
Right now I'm currently changing my workouts from crossfit and weights to crossfit and rucksacking. Also doing the APFT. My cousin said I better be able to get out there and do it after eating my bowl of Spaghettios.
Quick thanks to the SF members that have already helped me in getting to where I'm at now, and thanks to the members of this forum for the help and info that I'll obtain here.
