Elcan Optics

Does anyone have any thoughts about the Elcan optics? Specifically the M-145 and similar,"Beer Can" type rifle/machinegun optics. I have played with a few, but never put rounds downrange with one. I am looking to put it on a 20 inch H-BAR rifle. I've heard good things about the glass, but bad things about the mount, as well as complaints that it's too heavy, etc, etc. Any experience anyone can share is greatly appreciated.

Good times,
Blake

The optics are okay.

The ELCANs are heavy and the adjustments are external, so dirt and crud will eventually keep you from being able to make windage and elevation adjustments.

Heavy, but built like a tank. Surprisingly good light gathering at dusk. We did a test a couple of years ago among a few different scopes and sights and were all pretty surprised how fast it was to acquire.

Blake, if you decide to go ahead and get one let me know via PM. I have one I no longer use and I'll make you a deal on it.
