From CSM McNamara's son

Here is a note that was posted on dropzone.com 01 JUN 06 by Paul McNamara (USN) (his dropzone login is motusjr - see also his e-mail address)

V/R,

Quote:
To all who have known my father know he was a great man. I love him with all my heart and will forever. I thank you all who have called, stopped by, e-mailed, etc.. your concerns. With deepest regards of my family I thank you all because I know we could of not done it on our own. He was a great man he touched alot of people in his many years of his life. I remeber just the other day I was talking to him about me going to college and how excited he was for me. I was also told that the weekend that he passed everyone had to schedule around him because he was coming to see me for my surgerey that I had on tuesday this week. I called saturday morning to see what his plans were for monday and I was told he couldn't make it because he had passed and I lost it right then and there. I never thought I would loose my father this early but it was his time to go and I have to accept that. My family, friends, and I will all miss him for years and years to come. Again I say thank you to who have been there for my family and I. THANK YOU. If you would like to e-mail me you can send a message though here at dropzone.com or you can get me at quadsk8r15@yahoo.com THANK YOU AGAIN. God Bless and Blue Skies

Yesterday was as fine a memorial service for a warrior as you will see at Fort Campbell. After a service at Sky Soldier Chapel (actually a funeral mass with Holy Communion, since CSM McNamara was Catholic) by Father Ed Steiner, the priest from Immaculate Conception Church in Clarksville, military police coordinated with Oak Grove Police for an uninterrupted procession to the Kentucky Veterans Cemetary. There, Chaplain (MAJ) Murphy (5th Group Chaplain) presided over the rendering of honors and services at the site. All was done with the greatest dignity and respect. The service was attended by many black flashes, plus the jumpers who knew Pat best and were with him on his last day: Susie Hanks and Harry Parrish, and many others from Fort Campbell and Skydive Virginia. I have been told that there will be a Pat McNamara Memorial Jump in August in Virginia. I will post the information when plans are finalized.
