Jamie's funeral service was conducted in an exceptional manner today by a 5th SFG ODA (+) at 1400 in Marshall, TX. Flashes present were from 3rd, 5th, 7th, 12th, SWC, and SFA. I'll post a few pics tomorrow.

As the funeral procession proceeded through the town to the cemetery, all traffic (both directions) pulled to the side and stopped, the students and faculty were out lining the sidewalk as we passed the middle school, and many people were standing along the roadside or on their front porches paying their respects. Welcome to Texas and the heartland of America.

Attached pics of SSG Alford's funeral 5 Dec 2008. Flags and escort by Patriot Gurads who are a very active group--and a very cold group yesterday. The American flag was presented to his mother by his best friend, an NCO now in SWC who went through SFTG with Jamie and then served with him on 5th SFG ODAs. His district's Congressman was also present to present flags flown over our nation's Capitol to his brother and two sisters.

RIP.
