Is it possible to get into SF from 11B?

I wanted to go into the army with a SF contract but i only got a 61 on my ASVAB and the recruiter said it takes a 70. is that true?
and if i go in as a 11B is it possible to go into Sf at a later time?
also i only have my GED, would that effect my chances?

Reading the stickies would increase your chances of getting an answer.

In this case, I think you would be better served by trying to go in as an infantryman and applying for SFAS later.

I doubt that with today's recruiting climate, you are going to get into the 18X program with that many waivers.

You need to prove yourself first.
