To give the picture a little bit of depth, better/diff view, prop it up, etc, and all the guys over at ar15.com Handgun forums are doing it. Kinda like the pic posted here.

We had a order for M&P 45's in the dark earth color. SF crest is on the top of the slide. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I already have an appointment to get the trigger short travel and set at 4.5 pounds. Going to do some stippling on the polymer, but well see because who knows how deep the dark earth color is and it would be weird having black stippling on an otherwise tan gun.

They were 465 as I recall, not a bad deal. No nightsights but since itll probably be a IDPA CDP gun ill probably just throw some cheap truglows on there.

That was the first thing I did to the SA TRP Operator that I purchased.

I'm not crazy about a FLGR in any 1911 handgun. It opens the frame and slide to increased debree and other fouling that the standard GI type guide rod spring plug does not during recoil of the weapon.

Well TS, I threw another 200 rounds through my TRP Operator so far have had 1 FTF, 5 FTFs with around 500 rounds through it. I think all the carbon build up on the feed ramp might be the culprit on the FTFs. While my H&K 45c continued to eat through 200 rounds with no lube and has 1500 rounds through it.

Amazing !!

I've put 500 rounds of various ammunition through a new Rock Island Armory GI 1911 with zero failures. The cost of the weapon was $429.

Most of the ammuniton was WWB, PMC, Hydroshock and some Wolf 230 grain.

ETA: I'm using nothing but Wilson Combat mags and one Novak 8 rounder.

Another crappy working 1911 clone. (You do know I cut my teeth on 1911's but I'd NEVER again use one in a fire fight.

I got a Rock Island Armory GI M1911 pistol to start learning with last month and have only put 100 rounds through it with one FTF, but that was probably a fault that can be attributed to my inept hands.

I think it's a great pistol, but to be honest I don't really know what constitutes a great pistol. I'd love to get more practice with it but, unfortunately, ammunition is expensive.
