You are so correct TR. USC and Clemson have identical records so far this year. Clemson needs one more win for a bowl bid and it is a pretty well sure thing since they play Duke this week. I am sure that Duke has won a game or two over the years but have been insignificant since Spurier moved on. The USC V Clemson game should be a good one this year.

I missed this. Heck yeah we're still on, although my Irish lost another game in the waning moments. Back to back heartbreaking losses.

Just thought I'd throw this out there.

http://und.collegesports.com/sports/...111704aaa.html

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - A recent survey by The Harris Poll® of a nationwide cross section of adults has confirmed what one survey earlier this year by ESPN -- The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame are the most popular college football team in the nation among adults in the United States.

The 2004 survey, released Nov. 12, continues a long-standing trend. Notre has been America's favorite college football team every year since The Harris Poll® first started asking this question in 1997 (with the exception of 2000 and 2001 as Harris Interactive® did not poll on this topic during these years). They are followed by Ohio State, which for the first time unseats Florida State for the number two spot, while Florida State, which has been second for the past seven years, drops precipitously out of the top 10.

My Irish and Buckeyes 1 and 2.

First the Buckeyes take care of Michigan, and then the Irish upset the Trojans next week.

That would be the same Harris that predicted a Kerry victory?

Yes Sir, but it has also been verified by a similar ESPN poll.

2004 Rank
1. Notre Dame
2. Ohio State
3. Michigan
4. Texas
5. Penn State
6. LSU
7. USC
8. Wisconsin
9. Tennessee
10. Maryland

No Florida teams in the top ten. South Bend on top again!

I don't buy that poll for a second. The Nittany Lions, while having very little to cheer about the last four years , are more popular nationally than three of those four teams who tend to be regional (Texas, Michigan, OSU). I'll give you the Irish's popularity though Sigi there is no way to top them nationwide. GH is also correct the Big Ten is the toughest conference (followed closely by the SEC).

"Joe must go" on his own terms-the school and the community owe him that.

preparing for incoming....

You left out their 2002 collapse in the Gator Bowl against mighty NC State. No. 17 North Carolina State dug deep into its playbook of tricks to pull off a 28-6 shocker over 12th-ranked Notre Dame.

Make that 1-6 in bowls for the past 10 years.

Sorry, Sigi!

Penn State is historically a great team, Googles. I was at the Fiesta Bowl in 1987 in which they beat Miami. Miami swaggered in. They slunk out.

Unfortunately Sir your boys seem to have our number. Wish I could have attended that one (miami 87). Enjoyed the yolk dripping from Testeverde's face after interception number 5!
