It was a beautiful ceremony; on a cold, clear morning on that hallowed ground. The Old Guard did the Army proud and the SF Regiment was well represented. It was heart warming to once again stand among brothers; it has been far too long. His mother will be in my prayers for a long time to come. Rest in Peace Soldier.

SSG Matt Pucino Ceremony
I agee, It was great to see so much support among the community. The Old Guard was impressive and did a professional job. My wife said it was an experience that she will always remember. Matt will be missed, but he will never be forgotten.

RIP SSG Matthew Pucino
http://news.soc.mil/releases/News%20...091124-03.html
FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, Nov 23, 2009) — A U.S. Army Special Forces National Guard Soldier was killed Nov. 23 as a result of an improvised explosive device strike to his all-terrain vehicle, while conducting a combat patrol in the vicinity of Pashay Kala, Afghanistan.
Staff Sgt. Matthew A. Pucino, 34, was fatally wounded when he encountered an IED in the course of conducting a routine patrol. He was a Special Forces Operational Detachment-Alpha intelligence sergeant assigned to, Company B, 2nd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne) out of Glen Arm, Md.
Pucino is survived by his parents Albert and Kathryn Pucino of Orlando Fla., and sisters Lisa Haglof of Sagamore, Mass. and Melissa Pucino, Plymouth, Mass.
I was fortunate enough to meet Matt this past January during a train up for a contract. He came to Fayetteville right after he returned from Iraq and spoke with us about the challenges we were facing down range and what to expect. When I got into country, everyone I encountered there (both fellow contractors and Soldiers) had nothing but great things to say about Matt and his work ethic. The little I talked with Matt, you could easily sense his determination to win this important battle. The man had done the job to the best of his ability, in and out of uniform. He will truly be missed. He was a real warrior.

BLACKBEARD’S RIDE: Motorcycle Run In Memory Of Local Hero Will Benefit Wounded Soldiers
WickedLocal-Plymouth, 6 Jul 2011
When Green Beret units go into the field, members of the Special Forces teams create call signs to protect their identities.
SSG Matthew Pucino, a West Plymouth native, was known as Blackbeard, in part, for the bandanas he wore to keep sweat from his eyes.
“He could also grow a beard in about three hours,” his sister, Lisa Haglof of Sagamore, said with a laugh.
Friends and family will remember the fallen hero this weekend with Blackbeard’s Ride, a 30-mile motorcycle run from Buzzards Bay to West Plymouth that will benefit wounded soldiers.
The ride starts at Buzzards Bay Park on Main Street in Buzzards Bay at 11 a.m. this Saturday (July 9) and ends at noon with a barbecue at the Plymouth VFW on Seven Hill Road in West Plymouth.
Pucino, who grew up on Dartmouth Road in West Plymouth, died Nov. 23, 2009, while on patrol in Afghanistan.

WickedLocal-Cape Cod, 20 Oct 2011
The Sagamore Beach Post Office at MeetingHouse Lane will be renamed in memory of a Green Beret who was killed in Afghanistan during his third tour of duty.
The Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee on Wednesday approved the name change, and the post office will be re-named after Matthew Pucino, who grew up in Bourne, Plymouth and Cotuit and graduated from Bishop Stang High School in North Dartmouth in 1993.
He was the son of retired State Trooper Albert and Kathryn Pucino of Orlando, Fla.
The Matthew A. Pucino Post Office is at 45 MeetingHouse Lane. The full Senate is scheduled to approve the name change this week.

Fallen Hero's photo stolen and used for fake facebook page
This is beyond reprehensible. I hope someone can find a way to catch this POS and string him up.
http://www.myfoxboston.com/story/241...-facebook-page
BOURNE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Staff Sergeant Matthew Pucino was killed in combat in 2009, and recently someone stole his photo and used it on a fake Facebook account and dating website profile.
Pucino, 34, was inspired to join the military after 9/11. After three tours of duty in Iraq, the green beret from the Cape was killed while on combat patrol in Afghanistan on Nov. 23, 2009.
To keep his memory alive, his family started the Matthew A. Pucino Memorial Foundation. Every year they hold a motorcycle ride on the Cape in his memory.
His family members are still coping with the loss, and were shocked to discover that someone stole his picture and used it to create a fake Facebook page, claiming to live in Dallas.
"I was about coming out of my skin. I don't even know how to describe it, I mean the anger it was hard to sleep that night I was so furious that someone would disrespect his name and pose as Matthew, he's a fallen hero," Pucino's sister Lisa Haglof said.
The person also used Pucino's photos to create a fake profile on a dating website. They used a picture of Pucino with his two sisters, stolen right off the memorial foundation site.
His family doesn't know why someone would steal his photos, or what they are gaining by doing so, but they do know they want the photos taken down. The family asked Facebook to take the page down, but as of Wednesday, it was still up. Facebook told FOX 25 that they have to go through a "process," and they expected the page to be pulled by Thursday. By late Thursday morning, it appeared the page was removed.
Pucino's sister expressed her frustration over the amount of time it took for Facebook to remove the page. During an interview Wednesday, she said it was "disgraceful" because "if they wanted something down they could pull it down immediately."
The deceased soldier's sisters want to be sure that every military family is aware of this situation, and hope that may prevent something like this from happening in the future.
"He died for this country; he died for everyone in it. Let him rest in peace," Haglof said.
