If you are REALLY into MACV SOG history, I highly recommend Jason Hardy's team series. Very detailed and picture heavy. However, you must purchase these from him directly. He has just published book V. Stand by for sticker shock, but worth it:

I looked online but couldn't get a good answer. Is MAJ Plaster still alive? I'm driving across the country soon and thought if he was near my route I'd like to meet him and see if he'd sign one of the several books I have by him. Does anyone know if that'd be feasible?

"Across the Fence" by John Stryker Meyer was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend it.


"Legend" by Eric Blehm came out pretty recently. A great perspective of the assault helicopter crews that inserted SOG recon teams combined with the life story and heroic acts of Roy Benavidez. It was a great read.

Tom Davis has just completed putting all three volumes of "Tales from the Teamhouse" series on Kindle.

These have been listed under Tom Davis, Bill Coombs, and Jim Kelley. The books are a compost of team member's stories of the various SF units in SEA.

They are light reading, but worth adding to the list.
