Picked this book up in the PX back in 2007 and never stopped reading it. I may need a new copy, as my first copy is now well broken in and falling apart from being stuffed in my travel bag wherever I go. Some of the information is mostly geared for 18x, which he covers extensively, but there is vital information about how to prep yourself and your mindset before getting to SFAS.

What are your opinions on "Get Tough" by Tom Fitzgerald?

[QUOTE=Warrior-Mentor;108677]Glad you are getting something out of it.

I keep finding quotes that would have been good to put in there...

"There is one quality that one must possess to win,
and that is definiteness of purpose,
the knowledge of what one wants,
and a burning desire to possess it."
- Napoleon Hill

Been involved in faith ministry fro 18 years, and the stuff the QP's put on this site is awesome. People hear all kinds of messages in life and respond only to a few. My impression so far from reading QP comments is that you men respond in action-"Lip service....never heard of it"

I've browsed through "Get Tough" and needless to say view it as a competent, positive, fitness guide. It is rigorous as well as informing, currently I've taken some of his running regimes to mix in with the rucking format from "Get Selected." The two-a-day schedule I can't agree more with as your body will soon be able to handle more and more stress from overload emphasis to isometric declination exercises. I believe it is a great book to have for ideas to implement into your own routine, or if you wish not to create your own, that's a good start. Hope I may have helped.

The advice that is located in that book is bar-none. I'm kind of going in blind, in a sense, due to the fact that there are no SF units near where I currently live. My state doesn't even have Infantry units to ask about rucking adivce. However The information in this book, along with the wealth of knowledge readily available on this site will prove to be invaluable when I prepare to attend SFAS. I also liked the comment about "Reading the stickies and using the search bar" for the ProfessionalSoldiers.com reference.

Once again, Sir, thank you for putting together such an outstanding guide. I look forward to the many nights of reading, re-reading and reading again to be able to digest all of the information.

RC-Cola
Thanks for the feedback.

I bought your book (after a long battle with the Ft Gordon Clothing sales) just before I went on leave two weeks ago. I lost count on how many times I have read it but needless to say the information contained is amazing. I have reformatted my training and will begin the new program next week. Two months out from SFAS and I'm already feeling confident in the outcome. Thank you for this Rosetta Stone.

I will order a copy of "Get Selected" as well as "Get Tough" right away and try to incorporate as much as I can into my current regime!

Thank you for the information!

Mostly pushing papers and a little bit of traveling with the Team...no complaints though.

Boot regulation still in at SFAS

Ive done the searching but have not found an answer to my question in the Get Selected book it says that sneaker boots are not authorized. While I was attending WLC at camp Williams I observed a non qual platoon training and noticed that a lot of the guys training had Nike SF boots ( a sneaker boot ) on while doing the Ruck march, so my question is has the regulation changed at SFAS? is it now aloud to wear that type of boot?

Thank you
