With that ecchymosis pattern there is a risk of a torn ligament....I'm not an orthopod but having seen alot of these, I'd be suspicious especially if your range of motion is less than pre-injury after Ice, rest, antiinflammatories may want to use celebrex or Bextra since they don't inhibit platelet function...had enough bleeding down there.

My ankle is recovering in that the blood is being reabsorbed. Unfortunatley, the sprain hurts more now that it did before. Is this normal?

Doc,
I couldn't register because of complications with my place of residence. Serves me right for being an expat.

I'm resigned to this now, but when I found out.. I was mad. Especially given my current location- my vote could have actually made a difference.
