Well first off I would like to thank the men who have set this site up, and for those that provide invaluable information to us and thank you for picking up the sword for our country. My name is Spencer I am 17 and an upcoming senior I am also a Junior ROTC Cadet. I strive to become and fulfill my life long dream to become a green beret and to serve my country, I plan on attending college at the University of North Georgia where I will study for 4 years after that I will enlist. There's nothing in this world I would rather do, I don't see myself doing anything else in this world. I will continue to read and learn more before I but until then thank you gentlemen.

Respectfully,
Spence

Hello All,

I have been on this forum reading everything since 2013. I didn't make an account until sometime last year and just now am adding my introduction.
I was a student-athlete for a few years in college, but after a few years of thought decided that college wasn't for me at this current time. So, I will be speaking with recruiters this summer.

My father was also a QP in the early 80's serving in 5th group while they were still garrisoned at Bragg. Along with my father I have met several other former and current QP's which has truly sparked my passion into not just SF but serving in the military.

Welcome aboard. Like myself, I'm sure there's quite a few of us that served in the "Legion" in the early 80's.

Hello all,

I'm a 23 year old college student. It has always been my dream to serve as a Green Beret. I plan to enlist in approximately 2 and a half years.

I'm here to learn as much as I can from all the knowledge and experience available in this community. I hope to someday have the honor of serving among such amazing individuals.

Thank you all for your service to this nation, I truly admire the courage and heroism that men within this community possess.

Introduction, malganis97

I come from a military family. I've wanted to join since I was very young. When I was 17 I got into some trouble. So now I am currently waiting on a criminal waiver to get processed at the USAREC level. I am only 19 so I am not old enough to get an 18x contract yet. I plan on joining as infantry with hopefully airborne school in it. From there I plan to apply to go to SFAS as soon as I can.

Aspiring Green Beret

Hello, I am an active duty Staff Sergeant serving in the Republic of Korea Armed Forces.

I'm currently supporting a ROK SF unit as an Intelligence Sergeant (linguistic). I'm not "SF qualified" but serving with SF Soldiers inspired me heavily (these being South Korean SF) and now I dream of donning the Green Beret one day. (ROK Army SF is modelled after U.S. Army SF and the organisation is very similar.) I will discharge from active service in my country this November and I plan to move to the U.S. soon after to pursue a full career in the U.S. ARSOF. It will not likely to start out as an easy road since I am a foreigner w/o residence in the States so I'll have to first take care of visa, etc. But I'll push through.

I really look forward to learning from this community. I know this will be a huge help to me.

Thank you.

Good Afternoon,

I am 25 years old and I have a college degree in applied science (pre-health). The military, specifically special forces, was always something I wanted to do, so I finally joined last year with the intention of pursuing a shot at the delta course. I have been browsing this site for a while and figured I should finally post my introduction. Thanks to all who run and maintain this site.

Hello,

I've been consistently lurking here for about 5 years now so I think its about time I introduced myself. I'm a 25 year old with a Mechanical Engineering degree. I grew up building old cars and motorcycles in Northern Cailfornia and have continued that. I do a lot of distance running, hiking, swimming, and have been shooting and hunting since I was 5 or 6. I've done a lot of backpacking, orienteering, rock climbing, surfing, and I'm a pretty fair xc/tele skier. I'm also a reasonably experienced metal fabricator (GMAW GTAW SMAW oxy fuel, lathe/mill, anything really), mostly for myself but have spent some years for work too. Recently I've started adding crossfit style workouts into my routine as well. I've read the "Get Selected" book a dozen times or more, as well as reading lots of other good resources and watching every fuzzy SF youtube video I can find. I can get by in Spanish and I practice about 5 days a week.

I like creative problem solving and I like helping people too, and I think enlisting through the 18x program would be a good place for me. It's something I want badly.

If you need anything more from me, I'll be lurking around

Thanks for your time,

Good Morning Everyone,

My name is Scott, I'm Active Duty Navy currently stationed in Norfolk, VA. I'm originally from Southern California and I love to swim and surf. I will be attending the upcoming SFRE with B/1/20 SFG (A).

Any wannabe's like me in the Tidewater area of Virginia feel free to contact me if you need someone to train with (especially if you have experience with Land Nav). Additionally, if anyone in the area is having trouble with swimming/water confidence, I'd be happy to assist or point you in the right direction as I have a good amount of experience in the water as a qualified Navy Rescue Swimmer (Surface) and a life-long beach bum. (Moderators please let me know if this is not appropriate.)

As always, a BIG thank you to all the SF guys for passing on info and lessons to us wannabe's, I'm sure I speak for everyone here in saying that we really appreciate it.

-Scott

Hello Everyone. I want to start by saying thank you to the moderators and also, the quiet professionals for their shared wisdom and service to our country. I am here to be educated and to expand on research I have conducted. I am confident that I am at a maturity level necessary to begin training and adapting to the SF lifestyle. Currently, I work as a counselor for homeless youth. Also, I am a student in the last semester of my undergraduate degree. I also possess a certificate for completing a course as an emergency medical technician. I am an avid rock climber with summer plans to climb half dome accompanied by three climbing friends that I absolutely trust. Along with those plans I am in the process of creating my plan of action for adapting to the SF lifestyle. My first request on this forum is to be steered in the direction of where I may post my plan of action (I am assuming the correct forum would be SFAS). My hope is to have my objectives critiqued and expanded upon. Again, thank you to the members of this community for your support of aspiring SF soldiers.

Welcome aboard, all.

Bandolier, your plan should be the same one that everyone else is told to follow.

Best of luck.

Good Evening,

I'm from Los Angeles, CA. I grew up in a very socially introvert family, I was really into mini wargaming, sci fi, all that stuff growing up. At around age 17 was when I seriously looked into enlisting, I dropped weight and got into good shape, but little did I know I was academically behind. My family urged me to stick around and get a better grasp of the world (I took their advice, I won't lie.. it did help me) and now I'm here at 22, worked odd jobs, gained weight, going to classes I don't feel I learn from despite passing, and meeting people who I don't relate to at all. I'm planning on talking to a recruiter by October 1st when my weight drops down. A lot of advice given here to everyone by QPs helps me a lot in my life.

Thank you,
-Belial
