Introduction

Hello Gentlemen,

My name is Tom, from Vermont. I graduated Norwich University and received a commission as a maintenance officer.

I have been preparing for SFAS for 9 months by training with the SF recruiters at Fort Drum.

My selection packet is turned in and I am awaiting acceptance to attend SFAS.

I desire to become a SF Soldier because I believe that success is made, not by the individual in a group, but by the collective efforts of its dedicated members, whose fundamentals are manifested through teamwork and the ability to think critically. I look forward to reading and learning from this forum.

I served just over 24 years in the Air Force in communications. I joined years ago and never visited again. I did a search about an instructor who's class I wanted to take and was directed here and found he was a fraud.
I read a few post and foun them interesting.

Introduction Post

Good Morning,

I am a 24 year old student living in New England. I have wanted to be a Green Beret since I was a teenager. After a few years of maturing, I feel that I now have what it takes to give everything I have for the opportunity to serve with America's best. I have worked hard to eliminate as many distractions as possible so I can focus on what is important to me and my family.

As of earlier this year I have signed my 18x contract. I have dedicated all of my free time into acquiring knowledge and physical training. The Professional Soldiers website has been a great help throughout the years that I have browsed through the forums.

I am very excited about giving my all and being rigorously tested.

Thank you.

I am a PV2, 19 years old, currently assigned as an air traffic controller/15Q.

I was not eligible for the 18Xray program, due to the fact that I enlisted at seventeen under DEP. I'm working with a SF recruiter and have a tentative date for September. When all is said, I want to be an 18D. Religiously, I'm a Buddhist, however, I feel that some actions are necessary, and if there is to ever be a war in my lifetime I want nothing more than to have the ability to save lives and make an impact on those around me. My father was crippled as a child during the Vietnam war, and is still handicapped because he wasn't given aid at the time. I just want to be able to help people who aren't able to help themselves.

Past the point of exhaustion just to be looked at and be available. I understand that I may not be the right person for the job but it doesn't mean I suck it just means I'm cut out for special forces which is the case for 90% of the attrition rate. Other than that I'm going to milk this system for all it can give and move on to the next level of life because it only gets harder.
Good Day !

Ha I was thinkin the same ting.

But since this the intro thread, Good on you Saigon, your cause is noble. However, keep in mind "if" you bollo the medic course, you could be blowing/shooting things and folks up.

Even so, you're medic 18D mos is secondary, being a tm guy (18) is first...all I'm gonna say

Hello Gentlemen, a little bit about myself; I'm 22 years old and I am graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Law Enforcement with a minor in Computer Science in May. I have an 18X contract, and my basic training ship date is 20160523.

I initially wanted to become an Officer, but upon some serious reflection and consideration I have decided to enlist under the 18X program. I have some work to do physically before I ship out so I have purchased Get Selected! by Major Joe Martin. Its my understanding that completing the workout program in the book will get you ready physically for SFAS, the mental side is a different matter. I have enough time to run the program twice, and I will be starting it Sunday.

I have been lurking here ever since I stepped into the Recruiting Office three weeks ago, but I still have a ton of pertinent information to read on this website.

Just to note what I have found most important while reading topics here would be:
1. Never Quit
2. Focus on your 25m target
3. Situational Awareness
4. Upkeep on your feet.

Introduction

Thank you for providing such great resources on here and thank you to the Quiet Professionals for serving our country at the highest levels.

I am twenty four years old with a B.A. in Economics and am currently working in the financial services sector outside of New York City. I played division one athletics and scored a 128 on the GT portion of the ASVAB. I went to MEPS and cleared all of the physical examinations except for the fact that I was taking a medication for oral herpes (non-STD) for two months and that DQ'd me. I have since ceased taking the medication and after submitting all of the required follow up paperwork, I was approved, but a waiver was need for the prescription thus disqualifying me from getting an 18X contract. I have submitted for a proprietary waiver with USAREC, but I am not relying on that to get cleared. I have been speaking to anyone and their mother who can shed light on the process of being able to get the 18X contract as well as going in with an 11D contract and the likelihood of getting an 18X contract in OSUT, which I am willing to bet on myself that I can get. This website has provided invaluable knowledge on topics that I have been trying to learn more about and I thank you all again for your insight.

introduction

Hello,

I'm 23, located in New York, and have always had an interest in Military Special Operations. I strongly believe in the mission of SF, and am interested getting a better understanding of whether or not I should pursue a career in the teams as an officer or through the 18X program.

My name is James. I'm a guest on this site and thank all of you quiet professionals for allowing me to learn about the Special Forces way of life.

I have been a licensed Executive Protection Agent aka licensed professional bodyguard for the last twelve years.

My interests are physical training, martial arts, and target shooting.

I have an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Finance. I worked previously in Banking & Finance but found out I enjoy the Warrior life style more.

Thank you again for letting me get a glimpse of your world.

Hello everyone,

My name is William and I am a 22 year old Junior studying Secondary Education with concentrations in English, Biology, and History. I have been enlisted for over three and a half years now with the Army Reserves (decided to serve because it has been a family tradition, and I also felt that serving my country is an obligation men should want to do).

I have been lurking this website for about a year, constantly reading and taking in any information I could and apply it to the best of my ability. Two weeks ago I contacted a SF Recruiter in the National Guard, and due to my commitment and eagerness to go and train with their unit, we have been quickly filling out the required paperwork to get me released from the Reserves and into their Guard unit.

The plan is to keep me on the support side for a while to get my feet wet and see how the unit works, also to build rapport with everyone there. I hope to attend Selection within a year if possible. Thank you to the QP's and other members of this website with the plethora of information provided, it has been extremely valuable and insightful for me to read and reflect on.

Greetings everyone,

I'm a 25 year old civilian currently putting my college education to work at a law office. SF has been a dream of mine since high school, and now that I've grown up a bit and spent a few years working in the civilian work, I want to do some serious research and soul searching to decide if this is a career field that I still want to get into.

Thanks to everyone here who went downrange for our country and thanks also for opening this forum to non-SF members like myself. I've learned a from this site already and the more I read the more I realize how little I knew to begin with.
