My name is Sean King. I just happened across the site searching for some information on Harsey knives.

I am not special in any way shape or form....I have nothing to offer the site, so I figured (incorrectly) that no one would want me to post here as I'm not an expert on much of anything nor do I have any military experience other than my Father and Grandfathers being in the military.

I am interested in hunting, fishing, shooting, 4wheeling (quads and buggies), weight lifting, etc.....but I doubt that's of any interest to anyone here.

Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes with my first post. I wasn't trying to be rude or a rule breaker.....I just honestly am in awe of the people on this site as well as their qualifications and service to our nation. While I am a huge admirer and fan, I am also very cognizant of the fact that I am a nobody and hope I am not wasting your time by posting here.

Thanks,
Sean

Good Afternoon Gentlemen,

My name is Jon and I have recently completed my sophomore year at Northeastern University in Boston, studying Civil Engineering. At school I am a member of the lacrosse team, Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, and Army ROTC. At the end of the summer I will be attending Air Assault School (Class 13-08) at Fort Campbell. Upon commissioning I hope to branch Infantry, serve my time as PL, and then submit my application to be selected for a chance at becoming a Special Forces officer.

With this being said I hope to make this my profession, not just a job. I look forward to gathering up every bit of information possible in my pursuit to become more knowledgeable in the trade, and becoming the best leader possible to my men. Thank you all for your service to this Country and its people.

-Jon

Stop with the self-deprication, work to understand your unique and valuable abilities and potential to contribute to society, begin building your quiet self-confidence starting today, and don't ever forget to learn and follow the rules of any new environment you enter, on-line and in life. Ingratiating yourself garners the wrong kind of attention from the wrong kind of people.

What I was trying to convey (and must've done a bad job of it) was that I have nothing to offer in terms of tech advice (or even commentary) on this site as I have ZERO experience. I'd just be talking out of my backside if I did. I was trying to humbly admit this while acknowledging most folks here are deserving of all American's respect for the job they do.

I only joined to be able to send a PM to someone here asking a specific question about a purchase I'd like to make. When that question wasn't answered via PM, I made the mistake of asking publicly in a thread without first introducing myself (thinking no one would care since I have nothing to offer this type of site)....that was my mistake, and I've apologized for it.

Thank you for taking the time to write out that reply though. You are quite right....and it would be good advice to someone in a different situation (or the one you thought I was in).

Thanks,
Sean

My name is Joe and I am here to listen (or read, to be technical) and learn. I have no military experience. Currently I am driving a truck and paying bills (I have some debt accrued from college). I'm considering enlisting, for help with the aforementioned bills, adventure, and an opportunity to serve my country. I am honored to be here, and to all those who are or have served: Thank you!

Hello, Im Chris. Im 35, married for 10 years, no kids and have a dog or 2. Im into outdoor stuff like Kayaking, hiking, camping, primative style bushcraft and survival stuff too. Not too much else to speak of. Im just an average guy living an average life.

I found the board while doing a search for reviews on a BHI rucksack. I had a look around. Seems to be a strait forward board w/ no trolling or flame wars. I like that. Im pretty sick of the Wild West kid shows on most boards these days.

Anyhow thats about it. Im not a wordsmith so ill leave it at that ..Thanks.

My name is Blaine. I am 24 and live in Western Pennsylvania. I have an Associates Degree in Information Technology and currently work as an administrator in that field. I have recently signed an 18x contract with a ship date of 20090422. I am taking a year to handle some personal matters and work on some of my deficiencies.

Intro... sorta

So three years have passed since I started reading and I've finally completed step one in my master plan:

1. Get commissioned.
2. ????.
3. Profit.

Figure step 2 should work itself out

Anyway, FWIW headed to Ft. Lewis in a year or so after my year of 11A love in Benning. Thanks for all the info and hours filled trolling the site. See ya'll out there

Introduction

Gentlemen, thanks for this great site. I have been enjoying the boards the past few weeks. It seems an interesting blend of opinions and knowledge.
During the "summer of love", at the age of 19, a civilian-to-SF program brought to me a brand new set of realities. Stress and strength, pride and humility. Discipline.
After SFQC, I had the priviledge of serving within 3 SF groups, meeting and working with some of the finest people I'll ever know. OCS at the ripe age of 32. Combat Diver at 34. ETS'd a Bn staff guy.
Thank you for having me in. Bill

27 years old, was in the army for 6 years with the 10th MTN as 11b. Iraq and afghanistan deployments. I am a fulltime firemen and I just graduated with a degree in nursing for a part time job since I work 72 off 24 on at the fire house. Now i work in an ER as a clinical nurse part time. I Got a wife and an ugly cat. I registered about 6 months ago while exploring the option of going back into the Army and see if SF wanted someone like me. Now that I graduated RN school, I am very much in turmoil on where I should head next with my career in medcine.

While I was in my deployments I had my EMT so when we went on mission I was looked to as the medic type guy. I did some amputations, well, finished what was started, gunshot wound care, and various other things with minimal knowledge. Hence, my reason I went to RN school when I got out of the army. I left with the intent of going back in when I was done with school to learn more so I could help fellow soldiers once again. I know though that being on regular line infatry squad is not what I wanted any more. I want to be something more, with a tight, cohesive, team of like minded people.

Anywho great information here and appreciate all the postings done by all of you.

Hello,

my name is Drew, I am considered a bit too long in the tooth for the challenge and I am a civi who ran across your website after doing a search for M262 ammo and reading through some of the topics was pleasantly surprised to find a group of bonified professionals that meet the tenets of some other SF guys I have met.
