Culmination of a three year project: The SHIIT Bag. Not a knife, but still awesome. I'm really pleased with how these turned out.

Me talking about the bags: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWDS239AvNM

And a couple of pics during the packing process from Thursday/Friday.

Looks like the right size and weight for camping and even backpacking. I like the functionality of the hammer head version.

Those MicrAxes look sweet !

I agree, the hammer function looks handy for driving stakes, nails, maybe a small wedge or pounding an occasional skull.

Thanks, guys. Pretty excited about these. The thrust with these was to offer something smaller, lighter, and faster than the ManiAxe. The ManiAxe can be a real beast of an axe when you consider some of the head options. The MicrAxe weighs about the same as a 24oz framing hammer. And I've also got a "diet" version in the works too, which will be even lighter and faster.

Quick testing pic of the new MicrAxe. This is what they look like after heat treat, uncoated.

You have done it AGAIN, Brother! REALLY like these - will you have any at the USASOC sniper competition in March? Definitely want the one with the hammer head iteration!

Tatonka316: Thanks bro! Looking forward to seeing you at The Comp. I will definitely have one of each version as samples in 0.375" thickness. One of those will be the uncoated one you see above. I am blocking aside at least a good 10 minutes or so of chopping time every day with that axe between now and then so people can see how they wear. Am also hoping to have the "diet" version (0.275" thickness) ready in time as well. I am expecting to have those back from machining the first week of March, but they will still need heat treat, coating, finishing, and sheaths. So it's going to be down to the wire.

JJ_BPK: HA! You mean like this?

The question in my mind was "I wonder how long will it take me to chop a hole through this 2" seasoned cedar plank?" The answer was "Not long at all."

You need to send me one to test in the wetness that is the PNW... for scientific purposes, and I'll bring it so that it can get Loggerized by some big guy down in Oregon at the OKCA Show in April....

Of course, for scientific purposes... You know I'll want pictures of you in a lab coat.

I have a batch of these in 0.275" thick S7 that I'm trying to get done in time for Sniper Comp. I have been kicking around the idea of trying to do a pass-around kind of thing with one of those. And then when that's over with, raffling the axe off with all proceeds going to support The GBF.
