Bulls eye!
Commonly known as THV's, most weapons would need the feeding ramp polished in order to feed them.
The ones i had the oppurtunity of playing with were for various handgun calibers and were only available for self-loading, ie. one could only buy the head.
The feller that used to load would load 'hot' powder in the shell and then fill the hollow base of the THV head with powder.
As i said, a looong white flame would trail the round when shot.
These reach unbelievable speeds, but due to their weight (very light) slow down rapidly. They have been know to perive armour but their trademark is the vacuum created by the velocity and hollow base. I have only ever shot paper with these but believe "instant jello" is applicable when shooting flesh.
Regardless, i am much more secure with good 'ole factory loaded rounds for carry.
