I've been gone for a few weeks to return to this news. Col. Moroney gave council and shared thoughts with all of us, and I will never forget his private words after the VT shootings. Rest in peace sir, I only regret that we never had a chance to write all of your wisdom down, although it will be passed on in the traditions of your men and those who you crossed paths with you. God speed, sir.

Col. Moroney I just wanna thank you for your service and the wisdom you shared on this site. Your posts were the ones I usually read when I saw that you last posted in a thread. Definitely a god amongst men and a hero amongst warriors. Thank you Sir and rest easy.

I've been very absent due to the husband visiting home.
I'm crushed. It's sort of bizarre to be this broken up over someone I don't know in real life, or even that well online - but he's an American hero. I'm glad I'm part of that small segment of the population who has some idea of the magnitude of the man who just left us.
I especially appreciated all of his insights on the military family and his devotion to his best friend - his wife.
Rest in peace Colonel. You were the real deal.

I am saddened to learn about the passing of Colonel Moroney but grateful that I had the privilege to know of him. I have a deep abiding respect for the man he was and all that he accomplished in his glorious life. He left footprints upon the earth, minds and hearts.
My condolences to his family and loved ones for their great loss.
He shall never be forgotten. A grateful American.
