He's not the only one. May I make a friendly suggestion before the QP's jump on you. Go fill out your profile and read the stickies before posting again.

My Sincerest apologies, I suppose I am just a little bitter such as you are. And almost everything that you have voiced in these few threads I greatly agree with. Respectfully, I would think that putting a stereotype on the tendencies of where I post is not healthy either, I do fully understand how this forum is operated and am more than fully willing and inclined to follow protocol.

Back on subject, I concur ,this is quite baffling- especially for people in my age bracket, exit polls showed some 60%+ in the young people age bracket voted for Obama. Being how much of my generation are media slaves- we are consumed in everything from TV to Internet, in a way it makes sense that they voted for the candidate that was portrayed in the best fashion. Still, it makes them sheepole, young sheepole....

What I don't understand is, before I logged onto PS.com, I checked Ohio, and it's for BHO, but only 68% of the precincts have reported in, and at last count, there is only 79,000, votes separating BHO from McCain.

Come on....this is OHIO we're talking about here. Somethings not stirring the Kool-aid, properly here

Damn, this is a creepy coincidence. Yesterday, the army started pushing a medical retirement on me, which also happened to be the day marking my 22nd year in service, and now this happens. Hmmm. Maybe retirement from the armed services isn't such a bad thing now.

In his speech he said it make take 2 years to do the things he promised. He also said that might not be long enough, and that 4 years might not be enough time to.
Maybe he is planning on using the same sell points in 4 years.

Glimmer of hope

In a very small way, there is hope, at least for gun rights, in the next four years. I was listening to NRA radio, and it seems that not all is lost. The Democrats won't pull off the filibuster blocker, and it looks like House won't be such a huge loss either. And it also sounds like there are a lot of pro-gun Democrats, along with no real big precedence in passing a renewal of an assault-weapons ban or the like. Hopefully some pro-gun politician in committee will be busily burying these suckers as they come. Who can tell, but I'm optimistic about that at the very least.

And don't forget Obama's nice little comment about religion and guns, one of the biggest gaffes of the election. This country is clearly still firmly rooted in our 2nd amendment rights, and I hope that plenty of people start writing their Senators and Representatives and let them know that they won't be sticking around the capitol hill country club for long if they start tossing around anti-gun legislation.

Don't kid yourself. The media will soon turn on him like a pack of jackals. He won't have much of a honeymoon.

I know many of you guys are upset BUT, I have this to say (from someone who lives several thousand miles away):

First of all congrats on the process that selected these two guys to fight it out -the leaders of our country are more like managers than the Leaders you guys put forward (Thankfully I think we in Aus have a capital L Leader in the wings).

The debates that Mcain and Obama (and the VP designates) had were good debates arguing important issues in an intelligent way. We have nothing approximating that.

Even with the loss you guys are feeling, the US stands as a beacon in a screwed-up world, and your process has delievered one Leader over another without death and destruction. Be proud of your country for being able to do that.

The US must succeed in Iraq and Afghanistan (I hope Petraeus is able to get the message across to Obama) for all our sakes. It'll be interesting to see if Obama holds the line now that he has to deal with the reality as it stands.

The challenge of the Global Financial Crisis, Iran and ME peace more generally are going to take up a much of this Presidency. Each of those issues has the potential to have a terrible impact on the Western World.

Obama (for all his failings) will need our prayers if he is going to have any hope of dealing with those issues in a way that doesn't see terrible things happening to millions of people.

I'm rambling now, so I'll end by saying well done to the US, G-d bless her, her people and her President (because G-d knows, we need him to succeed).
