SGM Walt Hetzler

SGM (ret) Walter Hetzler passed on a June 2nd after a long time battle with cancer. Walt was a legend in the SF community. He was a Distinguished Member of the Regiment. He was an instructor and mentor to many who attend SF medical training in the 70s and 80s. He served in a variety of SF units and positions. Walt cast a giant shadow which covered and protected many us. We followed behind him tripping over his huge footprints as we tried to follow his lesson and example. I know he is sitting at the head table in the halls of Valhalla waiting to welcome and care for all the Warrior brothers when they cross to the other side.
