Ad Hoc DX for Arafat

Based on scant relaible information and visual cues, what would your initial dx be?

I have noted:
- rapid weight loss
- thrush (visible in recent pictures)
- Encephalitis
- low-platlate count
- immune shut down

HIV/AIDS - if you believe than cancer is ruled out, this might be a logical presumptive jump in conclusion? Suuportive symptomology for a palliative patient?

Previous surgical history would also support this theory re: blood transfusions.

I might be way off, but Arafat's most recent pics certainly are similiar to what you see when caring for pallitive AIDS patients.

I am NOT suggesting a conspiracy, "Arafat was gay," jump in logic, merely noting that the symptoms are very similar to non-cancerous, but familiar progression of immune defiencies and symptoms.
