Dude - there's a WHOLE bunch of places my wife (and I for that matter) would rather not be. Having said that, simply make the best of where you are; that is the key towards success in the Army. Don't get too wrapped up in "whatever program" to prepare, your mental state will carry the day (starting to see a theme here?).

Even my current location had me slumped-shouldered, bubble-lipped, spit dripping, kicking-the-can-in-the-parking-lot saddened when branch told me where I was going but we have always found things to do that are fun. We've tried hard to ensure that we see all we can wherever we happen to be as for damned-sure you won't see me setting up shop in Illinois after this tour is over.

I guess the point is...no matter the suck, it will all be over shortly and whether you enjoyed it or made the most out of it is up to you.
