Honor Flight Chicago 6/29/11

My father a Navy WW II veteran was selected to attend the Honor Flight Chicago Event. It was an incredible day that started with a limo ride to Midway airport. Then off to Washington D.C. with 90 other WW II veterans to tour all of the war memorials and lunch near the Pentagon. Then it was back to Chicago for a welcome by 2K plus people. The welcome included Patriot Guard, Honor Guard from Great Lakes. Many of the veterans were in wheelchairs that were pushed along by veterans and Navy recruits. My dad was not expecting our whole family to be there to greet him. It was an incredible day for my dad, our family and all of the other veterans and families. I must say that I have not witnessed an outpouring of patriotism like that in my 55 years of life.
