This story kinda' wraps up Sudan, South Sudan and Darfur. The time line is interesting. The Peace Accords of 2005 brought Southern Sudanese into the government and allowed a little more "night life" so to say.

The concern for many in the north is that if the south does split away, the Islamists who still control Khartoum might re-establish their previously dominant vision of society. ............."
