This might surprise some of you but there are other knives besides sandblasted breaking bars.
I thought the time might be right to show some examples of the modern cutler's craft. The word 'cutler' is said to come from the Middle English word, 'cuteler' which came from the old French word 'coutelier" that came from 'knife'.
In modern knifemaking the term is used for an individual with all the skills of knifemaking.

The folders work as they should.
Harumi Hirayama is the Japanese knifemaker who's work is shown on the link. She does extraordinary work. Even the blades are cut by hand and beveled by drawfiling.
It was an honor to have Harumi as a guest here in the shop and home a few years back.
