TR,
Melvin is 6'4" and just over 200 lbs. When he got hurt in the first bad logging accident he had over 30% of his quadriceps removed because they'd been without blood supply and exposed to air for too long. He's looking pretty lean now but can still hit hard enough to stay in world class competition. The first accident should have ended his life let alone his logging competition.

Jim Alexander (from Australia) was a monster and a champion. He started working in his fathers rock quarry at age 13 with a pick and wheelbarrow. He had a mean streak too.
I remember twenty years ago when he'd just turned 50 and was doubting his ability to compete in professional timber sports. He then won the US Championships in chopping that year. I told him to quit whining (from a safe distance).

My point of mentioning all this is the shape of the axe edge for what I think is the ultimate chopping test for a human powered edged tool.
