Lt. Col. Douglas H. Mann

Lt. Col. Douglas H. Mann, passed away September 23, 2006. Doug had been stationed in Texas when he had a motorcycle accident and suffered severe head injuries, which resulted in his death.

Born: April 18, 1955 in Rochester, New York, he enlisted in the US Army in 1974, took Infantry basic training, then attended Airborne School, and after Airborne School was assigned to 82nd Airborne Div. He completed Recondo, Pathfinder, and Sniper Schools. Lt. Col. Mann received a degree from State University of New York. Received his Commission and was assigned to 25th Division.

Completed Ranger School, then the Special Forces Q Course, followed by HALO School, then Psyop's and Civil Affairs School. His assignments include: Team Commander A-121 (Maritime Opn's ), Co. B, 1st SFG (A), Okinawa, Japan, Mogadishu, Somalia - United Nations Restore Hope Vicenza, Italy - European Task Force ( Abn ),Operation Iraqi Freedom, Philippines - Joint Special Operations Task Force. Lt. Col. Mann has received a number of awards, to include: Purple Heart, Bronze Star w/" V " Device, CIB, Global Terrorism, Expeditionary Medal, and Defense Service Medal.

His wife, Sarah“ Jo “ Mann and children Katherine, Sarah, Eric, David and Karin, his mother, Carolyn; his brothers Clark, and Eric; and sisters, Laurie and Bonnie, survive Lt. Col. Douglas Mann.

Funeral Services: Main Post Chapel, Ft. Huachuca, AZ Tuesday, October 3, 2006, at 11:00 hrs. with interment in Old Post Cemetery, October 3, at 1300 Hrs. Reported by Tom Sweeney, President, Chapter X, Sierra Vista, Arizona
