What Pistol for Suppression??

I have an Element 2 and Silencerco Omega in jail awaiting tax stamp and now I'm looking at a 45/9mm can.

BUT, before I pick a can, I need a pistol. I have a hole in my gun case when it comes to larger cal pistols for a can. The two 45's are 20yrs models and NOBODY ever made a threaded barrel. My P938 seems to be to small and not threaded.

That leaves me with a G23 in 40cal.

Before I go looking for a glock threaded barrel, probably in 9mm.

What does the hive like in the way of a 45 or 9mm base pistol for cans???

I seem to remember, back in the late 70's, when the suppressed Remington Hi-Standard .25 caliber automatic was all the rage ... at least in a certain 'periodical' ....

Get an old colt woodsman and have a good smith reset front sights and buy low velocity 22 ammo. The weapon will not function as a semi but rather as a single shot that has to be manually recycled.

Revolvers cannot be suppressed, and fully functioning semis cannot as the escaping gasses from the cycling will cause noise problems. Some delayed blow back ones will though. However you are then using full pressed ammo and that also causes problems at pistol ranges.

Alternative is the suppressed Hi Standard.

Not what you wanted was it.
