RIP Dad, Korean War Veteran
Some of you here may be aware that my dad has been sick for a while now. About a month ago, he was basically critical and then rallied just last weekend. It was great to see him rebound, full of good spirits and a love of life.
Last Tuesday he started a downward spiral and by Thursday afternoon he died. I was there with him, held his hand and stroked his forehead telling him it was ok to let go as he passed from this world. It would be an extreme understatement to say it was one of the most difficult things I've done in my life, but can say I am happy he is no longer suffering. And I'm blessed and forever grateful I could be there with him at the end.
I'd like to say something to all of you who are, or have, served. My father was proud of his service in the Army. He was a combat engineer with the 25th Infantry Division, "Tropic Lightning", in the Korean War and held deep respect for those who have carried the torch he passed along so many years ago. He always made it a point to tell me to be sure to thank all the guys and gals I've written over the years, and how proud he was to be part of the Brotherhood.
So via myself...my father offers his final salute to all of you.
Rest in Peace Dad, I love you.
"Your baby girl"

My prayers and condolences to you and your family.
May your father walk the halls of Valor with his head held high, as The Man is now watching over him.
