The Bush War in Rhodesia

I'm currently reading The Bush War in Rhodesia by Dennis Croukamp. I'm about a third of the way into it and it's decent so far. Follows the author from the 60s in the Rhodesian Army through his time in the Rhodesian Light Infantry and into the Selous Scouts fighting the commies in Africa.

Had a guy on my team that lived those wars in the Rhodesian SAS. Interesting stories. I believe he has a few pictures in that book.

During the Q I sponsored an officer from Zimbabwe who lived it from the other side. (I've posted about it). When the Rhodesians read the writing on the wall and noticed no spelling or grammar errors they took action to co-opt many of the revolutionaries by (catching them first -- shooting them up if they had to) and then bringing them into the military. the plan was they could get them trained and let them see that everything didn't have to be destroyed.

He was an awesome guy and man did he know a lot about conducting and avoiding ambushes.
