Seizure disorders, and the Hmong

I'm taking a chance here that nobody will mind if I post about a non-SF non-militaria book.

I suppose this would fall into the medical anthropology category.

The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Ann Fadiman is an interesting and moving read on seizure disorders, and culture clash (specifically, Hmong medicine vs Biomedical culture). This book also displays perspectives of Hmong refugees in the US regarding their situation.

I think the SF experience with the Hmong during the conflict in SE Asia makes this material relevant in this forum...
