Greetings! Having spent the last days enjoying hospital food...I used the Search button and found a thread from 2004 started by TS, asking about favorite food.
(see above link)

I was curious if anyone would like to share their favorite food and/or if anyone from that old threads' fav has changed?

I will start...

Japanese raw sushi...so yummy! I could live on this!

miso soup
edamame
tuna(maguro)
yellowtail(hamachi)
smoked salmon(shake)
crab(kani)
salt water eel (anago)
octopus(tako)

I imagine a lot of folks on PS.com have an international favorite?

My favorite meal is the most expensive omakase at Morimoto in Philadelphia.

How about MREs as your favorite food?

I used the search button and found threads on MRE shelf life, favorite discontinued MREs and where to buy MREs, but nothing specifically about favorite MREs and least favorite MREs...

Lots of folks hanging-out on PS.com must be wondering about good ol' Army cuisine - the good, the bad, and the yummy; both these days and in years gone by.

At the appropriate point, I'd like to hear favorite and not so favorite MRE foods ... Each of my boys have their favorite MRE food - stuff they love and trade for --- And, other foods that they try to bury as deep and as fast as they can.

Also, how has Uncle Sam's cooking changed over the years? - Is it getting better or is it worse?

So, let's talk civilian food and let's also talk about yummy military chow...

Don't be embarrassed to admit that once in a whille when you're getting ready to settle in and watch a football game that you don't find yourself hungry and pining for a quick delicious Turkey Dinner MRE - not just cause they were good, but they were so quick and easy - And, that makes it taste so much better, right? Let's be honest... My wife doesn't read this board so I'll say it - I wish she could cook as well as Uncle Sam. Hey, I've only had some samples and I find myself wanting more.

Is anyone going to be bold and say their military MREs were/are their favorite food? Personally, I like food that is ready and at my elbow - MREs fit the bill.

I love fast starchy meals with lots of gravy...

Hey, are there Sushi MREs?

I saw that one - that was MRE Recipe Contest...

Fair enough...I don't want to spoil a good thread.

Favorite Food - Pizza. ...Pizza has everything I like - cheese, meat, and vegetables - yummy - You get all that good stuff in each bite. The best part is that it is delivered hot and ready to eat. On my diet, I rarely get it (South Beach - lost 25 pounds two years ago) - So, when I do get it - it's that much better.

Sorry, Holly...My favorite food is probably a disappointment, too.

RL---I am afraid of that guy...3SD. He keeps after me, and on things I post...Seriously, if He and X-factor are not the same...they are at least a couple.

Here in Cincinnati we have four rather great Sushi restauants to choose from.

1. Saki Bom

2. Sushi Ray's (Ray is now away on vacation to the Orient. Dont go now)

4. The Fish House. (Located in Mt. Adams)

5. Caviar.

I personally like the "Rainbow roll" the "Sesame Roll" The "Caviar Roll" The "Spicy Tuna Roll" the "Tempora Rolls" and fresh "Squid Roll" with caviar and sesame.

I start with the Misu soup and about 3 Kirin Lagers (Tall)

I don't believe I commented in the original favorite food thread; I have lots of "favorites"

Home Food:
-My mother's Lasagna or pizza pies...honestly just about anything that comes out of my mother's kitchen
-At our house probably our style of BBQ Pork ribs, hot wings, chicken breasts, pasta

Street Food:
-Hands down it's Shawarmas from a specific shawarma stand in Amman, Jordan

Restaurant Food:
-Cashew Chicken from specific restaurant in Bangkok or from the closest Asian Express to our house from the many here in Fayetteville, NC
-General Tso's chicken from a local place here in Fayetteville, NC

X-Factor....No relation...

A guy that would pick pizza as his favorite food is kind of scary... My daughter said to me yesterday that I scare the guys that she brings around - I told her I know what she means - I scare myself sometimes.

I love Indian food - and pretty much anything with a curry of any kind is a favorite in our house. Thai curry, Japanese curry, etc. My husband has spent a fair amount of time in Japan and claims that the only thing he knows how to cook is Japanese food, so I love it when he cooks that because it means I have a night off!

As for restaurants, I'm guessing RL may have heard of this place since it is in his neck of the woods, but it's a favorite of ours when we are visiting the area. Dar Maghreb on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood has fantastic Moroccan food and is just plain fun. They have bellydancers too. One of the courses you get, b'stilla is phenomenal but you have to try it before you know the contents!

Have not been there. I try very hard to avoid Sunset Blvd. -- only good thing there is a little gun shop called LA Guns.
