April 2007: Farfur, a Mickey Mouse look-alike on Hamas TV, teaches kids terror.
He looks like Mickey Mouse and sounds like Mickey Mouse, but what he's saying is hardly the fairytale stuff of Disney.
A Mickey Mouse look-alike named Farfur is teaching Palestinian children the ABCs of terror on Hamas' official television station, Al-Aqsa TV.
On the weekly program "Tomorrow's Pioneers," Farfur and a young girl name Saraa' tell children to pray five times each day and drink their milk, while urging the children to "resist" the "oppressive invading Zionist occupation."
“Instead of being entertained, they’re being indoctrinated,” Itamar Marcus, the director of Palestinian Media Watch, told FOX News.
Marcus says that "resist" is a Palestinian euphemism for terror.
"Their message is of hatred toward Jews, hatred toward Israel, hatred to America as well," Marcus said. "They make fun of Condoleezza Rice, they make fun of Bush."
Excerpts from episodes that aired last month show the squeaky voiced mouse egging on children with nationalistic fervor.
"We, tomorrow’s pioneers, will restore to this nation its glory, and we will liberate Al-Aqsa, with Allah’s will, and we will liberate Iraq, with Allah’s will, and we will liberate the Muslim countries, invaded by murderers,” Farfur says in one episode that aired in April.
The message seems to be working. Poems and songs submitted by young viewers contain violent imagery. "Rafah sings ‘Oh, oh,’" one caller says as Farfur mimes carrying a rifle. "Its answer is an AK-47."

I wonder why the UN isn't saying anything about this. They're supposed to be all about peaceful intentions and all that.

If it were any other faith or religion, Catholic, Christian or Hebrew delivering even the smallest derogatory comment against Muslims, the reaction would be swift, loud and violent.

Just finished Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She was involved in the documentary which led to the Dutch film maker being killed on the streets in Holland by a radical Islamic crazy. One of the focus points of the book is the constant state of frustration felt by the author due to the propensity of folks in the West to dwell in a state of naiveté regarding the Muslim religion. The ongoing and steadfast determination of viewing Islam as a peaceful happy religion regardless of the world wide reality showing that it is not.
One of the things she instituted when she became a member of Dutch parliament was to require the government to tract the honor killings of Muslim girls by the their fathers or brothers. The Dutch government agreed to track track things on a pilot program, meaning they would keep statistics in only two out of the twenty-five police regions. Most politicians thought it was a waste of time as these honor killings could not be a serious situation.
Turns out between Oct ’04 and May ’05 there were eleven of these killings in just two police regions. The people in Holland were shocked, appalled, etc.
It appears to me, the West in general is still out to lunch and out of touch with what is really happening and the real truth about Islam. Additionally, if any description could be misapplied it is "honor" killings.
Muslim bashing? I think not.

I watched this program on PBS "America at a Crossroads" The segment I watched was titled "Religion without Fear". Irshad Manji is a woman that speaks out against radical islam. From the weblink:

If you could have seen the smile that came across this guys face when she asked if he wanted his son to be a martyr.....absolutely beyond the comprehension of the developed world to comprehend.
I tried to fit the reaction he had, the smile on his face, the light in his eyes.....Glee came to mind...
I believe his son was about 7 years old.

Concur...I think most are muslim by geography not by conviction. They regurgitate the same rhetoric that they hear day after day.....Hey that sounds familiar

Frankly ALL religion is largely determined by geopolitical boundary.....rather than by way of objective choices.
What strikes me as uniquely troublesome in regards to islam is this.
Though the extremist minority is most likely to take up arms/bombs and go ape-shit in the name of allah, the majority of those who do not, actually support the cause, verbally or silently....on some level. And even if this level of acceptance is slight...it's a FAR cry from meaningful condemnation.
There is nowhere near the "appropriate" outrage in islamic countries considering what these extremist groups are responsible for. And when I say "appropriate" I mean ANY meaningful outrage at all. No lip service from the PR heads, not the occasional "Gee, that was awful." I mean outrage with teeth....of any kind. In light of this, future generations will find no shortage of highly willing and motivated jihadists. Their hero's are not guys who score 50 points a night for the Lakers. They are not billionaire blonds who like to drink and drive. Their hero's are "martyrs" who's status as such is ONLY achieved through violent jihad.
How would the culture of white America address a huge upswing in violent KKK activity? Would American whites fall silent all of a sudden? Would the bodies of lynched blacks dangle unchallenged from trees in our city parks (Crips/Bloods & thugs aside)? Would nobody step up and confront it? I don't think so. Why? Because we generally and collectively do NOT agree with that. It would be addressed and it would be stopped.
Silence = acceptance....or at very least acceptance through fear. The islamic culture enables the violent among them...the extreme among them by not challenging it in any meaningful way. And when your version of "news" comes from a sole source, who happens to be a fire breathing, infidel hating mullah ranting daily about our evil empire, it's no wonder why so many see virtue in "the cause" of extremist islam....especially considering the alternatives available to them....which aren't much.
Extremist islam is literally sanctioned through both action and inaction in the muslim world.
If you guys haven't seen the movie " Obsession: Radical Islams War Against The West"...I highly recommend it. It should be required viewing for EVERYONE living under the shadow of extreme islam....and that would be most of the planet at this point.
