2014-2015 Deer season

Here in NC it has been underway for a little while now with the gun season fast approaching. I am ready this year, my boys have a crossbow and I am dedicating most of my time to get their first deer. Just wondering if anyone else has done any hunting yet.

I killed a whitetail doe in Georgia about 3 weeks ago. She has made some delicious spaghetti!

Good luck to you and your sons this season.

Firearm season open Nov 15 here and I'll be out.

My wife had a hip replacement a few weeks ago and even she is hoping to recover enough to go out this season.

FWIW, my wife had a doe perform a stage dive into the driver side rear of her SUV this morning. Yeah. You read that correctly. The damn things are suicidal, now. She backed up to see what the heck it was and almost ran it over. It was stunned, got back up on its feet and took off. I gave her hell for not getting its license and insurance info. Good news is that there was no damage. The bad news is that I don't have any meat in the freezer.

Hope your wife is back to normal asap. Hip recoveries are no fun.

Just got the food plots out yesterday, a couple of weeks late. I have seen some buck rubs within two hundred yards of my house. Also, I left a scent dripper hanging from last year. A stupid buck has made a scrape under it within the last couple weeks.

I'm looking to learn how to hunt. This year will be my first time ever hunting. Headed out around the first frost.

I haven't hit the woods yet. I have 1 stand to the back about 100 yards and a ground blind about 100 yds in another direction and a blind about 250 yards, all out the back door. Some days I sleep in late and hit the stand or blind about 10 and still till mid afternoon. Moon dictates when I'll sit early, mid day or late afternoon.

Fishing next week Monday thru late Wednesday afternoon around Ft Fisher Air Force Recreation Center, NC. Nice get away for active duty or retired guys. They have a big camping area, places for RVs or just rent a cottage.

Good luck

Well good luck to you all, hopefully I will have some pics to post this season. Light House where abouts you located, I may can assist you some if needed.

Bucks are starting to scrape some here, only a matter of time before they go crazy.

Habu I feel ya on the moon phase, it is killing us right now as the early morning and afternoon are my only stand times, one will slip up soon though!
