XS sights "express" pistol sights

Anyone else on here have these sights? I just had a chance to shoot a glock 17 with the Big dot 24/7s, and While I still prefer three dots, I think I could get used to the express sights pretty quickly. The idea is sound, as African hunting rifles have had shallow "V" express sights for years and years. It is just so different from the sights that I am used to that it will take a lot of getting used to. Any thoughts?

Well, I do know that it is a very good sight and many people tout the virtues of using a front sight when shooting and if it is a Big Ole Dot then maybe, hopefully you will focus on the front sight when shooting.

One common misconception of an Express Sight on a pistol is that while it is a great combat sight it can be difficult for let's say for bullseye shooting. While it can be done (with practice) it will never be a target sight.

From what I experienced with mine is that it took about 200 rounds to get familiar with using it accurately. That being said I would not even think of putting new sights on any pistol and competing with it, much less buying someones pistol and competeing in a 3 Gun Combat Match.

Hmmmm.

you're just jumping on the Sockbear Bandwagon, It may have been somewhat effective if you had been the first, but at this point I just don't care any more.

And you're DAMN Right it's a Sock bear and not a Sock Monkey.

I have about 3-400 rds with these sights now, and I am starting to get used to them. Now, that huge white front site just catches my eye. I am not sure, but they sure feel faster.

fwiw, I've got about 13-14 months with these on my duty pistol & 24 months on my plain clothes / off-duty pistol.

True, they are not for bulls eyes or paper punching. That said, I'm extremely happy with them.

Now to the point where I Like the hell out of these sights. They are really fast on target as you can't help but see that big Golf Ball front sight and you don't really have to worry about the rear sight all that much.

Some of you already know this, but I have recently gone to work for XS Sight systems here in Fort Worth. PM/Email me if you have any questions about them.

Good times,
Blake

Blake,

I bought the Big Dot 24/7 sights for my H&K P7 within months of them producing them for that weapon. I've used them ever since. And I love them.

I don't shoot the P7 that much anymore...my weapon of choice has become the 1911, on which I do not have XS Sights mounted. Hmmmm...maybe that's my next purchase.

Yeah, the Big Dot 24/7 are the shit. I was very uncertain about the bar/dot set up at first...but damn I grew into them real nice. I've got the Heinie straight 8's on my 1911's and love them quite a bit also. But that big dot is just like cheating when it comes to quick and dirty shooting.

Congrats on the job, man.
