Texas would be tough enough AL, just with the accent and idioms. Around Ft Polk or somewhere in the deep south, God help them.

One advantage I had, was that most of the folks I knew in Toelz also spoke English. Without that, I would have learned very little bayerisch. Did notice one thing though. The more beer, the better I could speak both languages/dialects.
